If you will use Video & TV SideView™ , you must first read and agree to this privacy policy prior to using Video & TV SideView™. This privacy policy also defines additional conditions with regard to other privacy policies that apply when transacting with Sony or when using other products, software or services. When using Video
& TV SideView™ , these privacy policies take priority.
Video & TV SideView™ is an entertainment application used in conjunction with compatible Sony Corporation’s home devices such as a TV or other electronic devices designated by Sony (“Compatible Devices”).
You can install this application to use your mobile devices as a remote control for part of Compatible Devices and enhance your TV viewing experience, for example, displaying information related to content on your mobile device.
Sony collects the following information when you use Video & TV SideView™
(a) Third Party Network Service Account 'tokens'
In order to use certain functions of the Video & TV SideView™ application, you may need to sign-in to certain third party network service account that we designate ("Network Service Account"). You provide your Network Service Account ID and password directly to such Network Service Account provider, which controls this sign-in process independently of us. Once you have successfully signed into your Network Service Account, your Video & TV SideView™ application will receive a digital 'access token' from such Network Service Account. This token will be used to display information received through your Network Service Account via your Video & TV SideView™ application.
(b) Information relating to your Network Service Account
When you have successfully signed-in to your Network Service Account via Video & TV SideView™, Sony may also receive information that you have registered to that Network Service Account including account ID.
When you use Video & TV SideView™, Sony may automatically obtain certain information (defined below), or may have you to actively provide said information.
*“Cookies” (which may be html files, Flash files or other technology) are small text files that help store user preferences and activity. A Cookie is placed on your Mobile and/or PC from web servers when it is used to visit certain websites or otherwise access online offerings. Cookies may be used for remembering you and your activities on such websites.
Information collected automatically described above will be uploaded with a unique number assigned to the devices this application is installed, which allows us to distinguish the data received from such device from that received from other devices.
Information collected automatically described above will be uploaded in connection with an Android adverting ID or Identification For Advertisers（IDFA） provided by iOS (collectively, “Advertising ID”) which can be reset by you in the setting of your device.
In addition to the usages expressly described herein, information collected automatically described above is used for statistical purpose and offering you tailored content – like giving you recommendations and questionnaires. In order to serve tailored content, you may be profiled including by assigning them into categories by assuming various characteristics about them.
Please be aware that neither the information sent to Sony nor the recommendations provided via this application are filtered and they may refer to potentially sensitive programmes (such as adult content) if watched.
If you wish to stop automatic data collection, you should cease using / uninstall the application.
When you use Video & TV SideView™, Sony may collect certain information through third party modules embedded in Video & TV SideView™ .
This information is sent to the provider of the applicable module.

Sony may collect and/or analyze the information referred to in Section 2 in order to identify potential security threats and to protect Sony, its users and its affiliates.
Sony and Sony Corporation's group companies may collect and/or analyze your Personal Data as set forth in Section 2 in order to offer you tailored content – like giving you more relevant ads and recommendations. Sony and Sony Corporation's group companies may send you marketing communications relating to Sony's and Sony Corporation's group companies’ services, products and events via e-mail when you consent to receive such e-mail communications.
In addition to the above, Sony, Sony Corporation's group companies and other third parties may provide the results obtained by labeling the combination of your Personal Data (including the names of programs you watched) and your assigned advertisement ID to Advertisers and the like as defined in Section 4 (below) in order to (i) provide you with
targeted and contextual advertising and offers both within the Video & TV SideView™ application and elsewhere online, (ii) verify the validity of these advertisements (including not making you watch the same advertisements many times), (iii) conduct advertising-related analysis and surveys and (iv) obtain usage information
about the Video & SideView™ application. In such cases, Sony will take appropriate contractual measures to prohibit Advertisers and the like from identifying you. For details on the Personal Data that is used according to this paragraph, how information is labeled and so on, see below.

Your information may be shared with other Sony Corporation's group companies for the purposes of pursuing the activities outlined in Sections 2 and 3 above.
Sony works with network advertisers, ad agencies, analytics service providers, platform operators and other vendors who provide us with information regarding traffic on the Video & TV SideView™ application (including pages and content viewed and the actions taken when visiting the Video & TV SideView™
application) (hereafter collectively referred to as “Advertisers and the like”) to analyze your interests and provide targeted advertising as set forth in Section 3 above.
Advertisers and the like may collect certain information about your visits to and activity on the Video & TV SideView™ application and other websites and services.
Advertisers and the like may set and access their own tracking technologies on your device and may otherwise collect or have access to information about you, which may be used to (among other things) analyze your interests and provide targeted advertising as set forth in Section 3 above. We may share with Advertisers and the like your usage
information about the Video & TV SideView™ application for the same purposes. Such Advertisers and the like providers may collect personal information over time when you use the Video & TV SideView™ application or other third-party applications, online websites and services.

If you opt out targeted advertising, Sony will not thereafter provide the results obtained by labeling the combination of your Personal Data and your assigned advertisement ID to Advertisers and the like for the purpose set forth in Section 3. Delivery of targeted advertising by Advertisers and the like will also stop.
In addition to analyzing your interests and providing targeted advertising as set forth in Section 3 above, the Video & TV SideView™ application will show general ads, which are not based on your Personal Data, in the advertisement area thereof.
As the Video & TV SideView™ application is an advertising-supported application, even if you opt out targeted advertising (described above), the general ads will continue to be shown in the advertisement area.
Sony may provide certain third party business partners with the non-personal information which has been (i) strictly separated from your account information and (ii) processed from more than one user's information referred to in Section 2 in order to protect you from being specified or identified, provided that Sony will have such business partners
comply with provisions of the contract stipulated by Sony, including a provision to prohibit such business partners from specifying or identifying you.

You can change your marketing communication preferences at any time.
