1. Additional usage of information collected through the Video & TV SideView™ application as a result of this Privacy Policy update

In order to analyze your interests and provide targeted advertising, the combination of the following information and the advertisement ID of the mobile device running Android OS or that of the mobile device running iOS (“Advertisement ID”) given to you will be provided to analytics service providers, advertisers, ad agencies, platform operators and the like (“Advertisers and the like”) after labeling the information as explained in Section 2.

2. How the additional information collected through the Video & TV SideView™ application as a result of this Privacy Policy update is provided to third parties

In providing the combination of information collected through This Application and Advertisement ID (“Target Information”) to Advertisers and the like, data processing will be applied to the Target Information to derive labeled data.* Sony Home Entertainment & Sound Products Inc. (“Sony”, “we”, “our” or “us”) will not take any action that would identify you and will take appropriate contractual measures to prohibit Advertisers and the like from identifying you. You will receive advertisements from the advertisement servers of Advertisers and the like. These advertisements will not be delivered by identifying you but rather delivered as a result of advertisement optimization based on the label attached to your Advertisement ID.

*Labeling refers to a process of determining a category (e.g., an one-hour program “A” was watched for at least 10 seconds, this TV commercial was watched for at least 1 second) and consolidating multiple Advertisement IDs included in this category as an Advertisement ID group.

4. How to opt out a mobile device’s Advertisement ID

■ iOS devices

An Advertisement ID (IDFA) is used when an advertisement sent to a user running iOS apps.

An Advertisement ID (Ad ID) is used when an advertisement is sent to a user running Android apps.

5. Handling of information collected through the Video & TV SideView™ application after opting out

If you opt out on a mobile device, information obtained by (i) combining the information set forth in Section 1 with the Advertisement ID and (ii) then labeling the combined information as set forth in Section 2 will not be provided to third parties thereafter. Further, information that has already been provided to third parties before you opted out becomes no longer usable for delivering advertisements. As such, after opting out, advertisements tailored to your interests will no longer be delivered to you using the information Sony provided to third parties.
